Cookie Policy

A short, complete list of what this website stores in your browser, what each item is for, and how to change your mind.

Effective 1 April 2026 · Version 2.0 · Harrier Lodge Hospitality Limited

01 · What cookies are, and what we actually use

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so that the site can recognise the same browser next time. Some of the things described here are technically stored in your browser's local storage rather than as cookies — the practical effect is the same, so we list them together and treat them under the same consent.

When you first arrive you are asked to accept all cookies, reject everything that is not essential, or choose category by category. Nothing in the analytics or marketing categories is set before you make that choice, and rejecting them does not limit your use of the site in any way.

02 · Essential — always on

These are needed for the site to work at all, and cannot be switched off.

NamePurposeDuration
hl_age_verifiedRemembers that you confirmed you are 20 or over, so that the age prompt is not shown on every page. Required by our obligations under the Gambling Act 2003.Local storage, until cleared
hl_cookie_consentRecords which cookie categories you accepted, so we do not ask again and do not set anything you refused.Local storage, until cleared

Neither of these contains your name, your age, or anything that identifies you. Both stay on your own device and are never transmitted to us.

03 · Analytics — off unless you accept

Anonymous statistics about how the site is used: which pages are read, how long people stay, whether they arrived from a search engine or a link. We use this to decide what to write more of and what to fix. IP addresses are truncated before storage and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

NamePurposeDuration
_hl_gaDistinguishes one browser from another so that a visit is not counted twice13 months
_hl_gsMarks the current session30 minutes

If you rejected analytics, or have not yet chosen, these are not set.

04 · Marketing — off unless you accept

Used to show Harrier Lodge offers on other websites, and to avoid showing the same advertisement repeatedly to someone who has already booked. We do not use marketing cookies to advertise gaming, and no advertising of any kind is directed at people under 20.

NamePurposeDuration
_hl_mktIdentifies the browser to our advertising platform90 days
_hl_campRecords which campaign brought you here, so that we can tell what worked30 days

05 · Third-party content

Two things on this site are loaded from elsewhere:

  • Fonts — the typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to deliver the file. No cookie is set.
  • The map on the contact page — supplied by OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when the map loads.

Neither provider is given any information about you by us, and neither is used for advertising. There are no social media tracking pixels, no session recording, and no advertising network embedded in these pages.

06 · Changing or withdrawing your choice

Clear this site's data in your browser and the consent record disappears with it — the banner will then be shown again on your next visit and you can choose differently. In most browsers this is under Settings, Privacy, and then either "Clear browsing data" or "Cookies and site data" for harrierlodge.com specifically.

Clearing that data also removes the record of your age confirmation, so you will be asked that once more as well.

07 · Browser settings

Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies wholesale — look under Privacy or Site Settings in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. Blocking everything will stop the age confirmation and cookie choice from being remembered, so you will be asked each time you arrive, but the site will otherwise work normally.
